Did A&J get you through homes quickly?
Jessica – I mean, it was pretty quick.
Eric– I mean, we’re usually able to do it within, you know, 24 hours of us like, emailing you or texting you about it. We were usually out there pretty quick, sometimes the day of, you know.
How was the communication with A&J?
Eric – Pretty open policy about being able to text you. And like when we needed stuff or had questions about stuff, which was definitely nice.
My Realtor is on Vacation, now what?
Jessica – We had someone that actually, had brought us out to view a home, and it ended up not being the one that we chose, but, we were able to get it and do that, while the vacation was being done, so we were still out, and our needs were still met.
What was the most interesting thing you saw while looking for a home?
Eric – So I was trying to like reach back into my mind a little bit about where we went and stuff like that, but honestly, it’s funny because I think the house we bought had one of the weirdest things, which was an all purple bathroom. Purple vanity with purple sink inserts, as well as a purple porcelain toilet and purple bathtub. So, sadly we’re probably not going to keep those things, as much as Sylvia loves them.
Jessica – I like them!
Jessica – The carpet-covered bar…The 70’s bar, I like it.
Eric – covered in shag carpet
What do you like about your new home?
Eric– The first home we ever saw with you reminds me a ton of the home we ended up in, which is that it was, you know, lower price, a good size, a decent size lot, you know, a nice, decent size house, that needed a lot of work, and it was nice because, you know, we can work with my dad who was a contractor and help us fix up the stuff we need. And we were able to get it for a price we were happy with. And now we’re going to be able to like put some, you know, time and effort into making it into our own place.
Jessica – I’m looking forward to space!
Eric – Yeah, yeah. That’s the biggest thing, for sure, is like, upgrading our room a little bit. Bigger bedroom. Bigger closets. Room for all of our stuff so we don’t have to pack it away in the off-season.
What did you learn during the home buying journey?
Jessica – I honestly think it would be how within the first, the first home we went to, and thinking okay, we’re going to put in what they’re asking, not realizing what the market was doing at the time. And how much it’s just grown since then, as well.
Eric – Yeah, we just always heard, you know, especially when we used to watch HGTV, and people are like, oh yeah, we, we did offer 10 under and you know, they got it, and you know, other people like we’re fighting but everybody’s offering lower. And it’s like, that’s not the deal at all. It’s like, if you don’t go 10 over you’re not even in business, it seems. It’s kind of weird because it was like the exact opposite of what I assume it’s going to be like. But I guess, you know, obviously, the market determines, you know, what the buyers are going to face, so.
