Are you looking to sell your home and maximize your profits?
Let’s go over a few simple tips first. First and foremost, prior to doing any renovations, ask your real estate agent to do an evaluation of your home and discuss your renovation plans. It is important to know how much value you are actually adding. A home evaluation with a real estate agent will help you determine how much you will need to spend or if it’s even necessary. Remember, as great as HGTV is, sometimes those home renovations are simply overkill in a seller’s market. Short of knocking down walls or adding extra bedrooms, there are several things you can do immediately to improve your home’s value.
Start with what everyone sees first. Try increasing curb appeal with simple landscaping, fresh flowers, and a new coat of paint, especially the front door. Second, look for dated items in the interior and consider replacing things like cabinet hardware, lighting fixtures, and touch up the walls and baseboards. Last, make the home low-maintenance. Replace or repair old mechanicals that has excessive wear and tear, like your water heater or any older appliances you may have.
Thanks for watching, and, as always, make it a great home buying and selling day!
